Making Memories

When Julie and Anthony were here over Easter they planned a trip to the beach with her family. Since we are close with the Wilson's because they are in our ward , they invited us to tag along. We went to Surfside and I have never seen the waves there so big! The wind was crazy strong and you could just feel the salt in the air. (Some of my pictures are blurry because of the humid, salty air.) When we got there the guys went to work cleaning a space for the beach mat and chairs, and the moms went to work putting sunblock on the kiddos. It was so great to see Addie and Jack. They are more and more grown up each time we see them. It's kinda sad. Kids grow up too fast.
I sat there and just watched Addie for a while. She just made me laugh! She was terrified of the water at first. She hated when the seaweed would touch her feet. She would stand far away and when the tide would come in she would take off running.
Like this!......=) So funny!
My Joe, and Julie's brother Joe got adventurous and went out into the huge waves to boogie board. They both ate it a few times and got covered by the huge waves, but they did pretty well! I was too chicken.

The kids had so much fun playing in the sand. They had cute little shovels and buckets and they were so entertained. Jack is such a cutie!

Julie got to spend some time with Emma and her other nieces and nephews that live here. Emma is my friend Melissa's little girl that helped at the shower. She is also Julie's niece=)

Joe Joe is Emma's little brother. They are such cute kids and they're so sweet! We have loved getting to know them.
Of course the biggest kid of them all couldn't help but get in on some fun in the sand!=) He LOVES spending time with the kiddos. He was excited about the shovel he purchased. He kept breaking the plastic ones, so he got a heavy duty one=)

Addie loves her Uncle Joe.
Emma and her cousin JD were brave and allowed Joe to bury them up to their necks.
Anthony, Julie and the kiddos. Too bad this one is so blurry!

Addie finally sat in this chair towards the end and would keep her feet in the water when the tide would come up. So cute!

We had so much fun! I have really grown to love the beach. It's such a relaxing getaway. I didn't think I would say this, but I really have grown to love some things about Texas. I have actually loved that it's warm so much out of the year. We spend so much time outside. I have grown somewhat accustomed to the humidity and the heat. I have just learned to go to the pool or the beach when it's hot. I can't complain about being able to do that, now can I?=)

Hermann Park

Anthony and Julie were here over Easter and we did a little Berg get together on Monday at Hermann Park. We all took our own food for dinner and ate on some park benches. The kids got to play on the playground, and feed the ducks. The weather was nice and it was fun to be together. I took a few pictures to document the event=)

We took two pictures so I could be in one=)

Addie and I were both wearing blue and white. I called her this morning to see what she was wearing. We planned it!=) Ha ha jk! We got a picture of the "matching girls." She's so adorable. It was really fun to have them here.

Fun In The Sun

About a month ago when Bob and Sharon got back from their vacation and were here for a few days, we went to the Beach with Dave, Serena, Maggie and Chloe. It was sunny and nice but the water was still a little cold so we mostly just played in the sand and got some sun. I really love being at the beach. Even though the water isn't the clearest here, it's still really fun and relaxing to be there.

Joe and Chloe. She's so adorable!
Maggie got new sand toys and she had SO much fun with them!
It was so fun to have Bob and Sharon there with us!
I don't think Joe sat down for more than two minutes with the adults. He LOVES playing with his nieces and nephews. Maggie loves her Uncle Joe Joe.
Chloe in her bumbo seat! She's growing up so fast!
Look how cute Maggie's little swimsuit is! She had so much fun diggin' away!
Joe Joe burying her feet in the sand
Then it progressed to this=)
Serena got in on the fun! Maggie loved this!
She loved being pulled out! Look at that smile=)
Dave said he was giving the sun a tan=) I love this picture! ha ha!
Joe got his legs buried
Joe, Serena, Maggie and I built this "sand castle." It was quite the production=)
This made us all chuckle. Serena brought Maggie's little potty in case she had to go poo poo while we were at the beach. Sure enough, it was needed=) Serena put it between the cars so she would have some privacy and when she checked on her she was sitting there singing and drawing in the sand. So funny! We laughed for a while at that one! Cute little Maggie=)
Dave and Serena's cute family!
Daddy daughter time. So cute!

Jillian's Baby Shower

One of my good friends here and her husband moved into our ward about a year ago and are about to have their first child. Jillian and Jason. They are the couple we went to race go karts with a few posts ago. They are both from Utah and it's pretty rare in our ward to find a couple without kids, so we instantly bonded. Melissa is Julie's sister-in-law and she and I became good friends when she moved into our ward. The three of us have gone to lunch several times and just have a blast whenever we're together. Melissa mentioned several months ago that we should throw Jillian a baby shower, so we invited lots of gals from the ward and had it at Melissa's home. It turned out really cute, and we had so much fun!

Jillian's nursery theme is baby blue and white with silver stars as an accent. So, we just went with those colors and stars as the theme. This was the room where everyone ate. The centerpiece was something Melissa had seen done before, where people write advice for the mommy to be and hang it from the branches. I made little stars with ribbon and it turned out cute. There's a picture further down where there are stars hanging from it.
Melissa is a little Martha Stewart! She made these cute side centerpieces, which were also the thank you gifts. They are star cookies on a stick!! I went over a couple days before to help her decorate the cookies and we had so much fun! I didn't have a steady enough hand to do the outlining, so I filled in the blue part and she wrote on them after they were dry. So cute!

The letters are in silver so you can't really see it but the sign says "it's a boy" that I made from different scrapbook paper and chipboard letters and then threaded ribbon through them. It turned out really cute! Better in person=)
The shower was from 10-11:30 so we had fruit, parfaits, mini muffins, and Melissa made mini quiche that were fabulous! The little girl is her daughter, Emma.

This is the mommy-to-be
The three girls! Melissa is also pregnant! I may look big enough to be pregnant but I'm not!=) Looking at this picture, that shirt I wore isn't the cutest=) These two girls have really been great! It took me a long time to find some great friends, and it's made it a lot easier and more fun having them in my life!
Emma was our little helper! She answered the door, wrote several cute little advice cards. (telling Jillian she should name her baby Emma, and how much she loves babies) So cute! We loved having her there!

I was the scribe, so I didn't remember to take pictures of the presents and Jillian opening them, but she got lots of cute stuff and we had a great turn out! She's getting induced next week so I'm so excited to see the little guy!
